They say things are supposed to slow down in the Summer, but I am still waiting for that to happen. However, it is wonderful to be part of such an active Pastorate! What a joy to celebrate the 110th Anniversary of Blessed Sacrament last weekend. Also, this past Tuesday, we had a historic Mass for the LGBTQ community at Saint Matthew. Here are some of the things we are working on for the rest of the Summer:
We are finalizing budgets for next year and preparing a financial report for the Pastorate to share with everyone. The good news is that both Parishes were in the black this fiscal year! Thank you for all your support!
We are working on hiring a new secretary as Christopher moves on to a new, wonderful job opportunity. We are also working to finding help with custodial and maintenance needs.
We are still looking for new Pastoral Council members. If you are interested, please let one of us know. We are also planning some big event for the Pastorate around the feast day of Saint Matthew in late September.
The IOSC is moving into the convent this Summer, and both our Parish and the IOSC have big plans for its use. There is a lot of work to be done on our old convent, and we will soon share with you all our plans and kickoff of a special campaign to “Care for Our Convent.” I’m excited and I think you will be too!
Finally, we are going to try to make it easier for those who would like to attend Daily Mass during the Summer. Starting on Monday, July 4th, we will have a noon Mass on Monday and Wednesday in our chapel. We will continue to have our 7 AM Mass on Tuesday and Thursday. We hope this might be able to encourage attendance at Daily Mass for those who might like to sleep in a little or take a lunch break with Jesus on Monday and Wednesday. We also will still offer that early Mass for morning folks or those who would like to start their day off with Jesus on Tuesday and Thursday. Please join us for Daily Mass; it would be great to see you during the week!
God bless!
Love and peace,
Fr. Matt

Please continue to make your Offertory contributions during the Summer. Even though many Parishioners take vacations, our bills do not, and we need to be able to keep a steady source of income on a weekly basis.

St. Matthew Catholic Church, located in Baltimore, is rich in tradition, united in mission and blessed with diversity! Our welcoming church home is seeking a Parish Secretary to provide administrative support to the Pastor, staff and ministries.
Over the Summer, we will try changing Monday and Wednesday Daily Mass to 12 noon to allow anyone who works during the day to attend. Tuesday and Thursday will remain at 7 AM. This change will take effect on Monday, July 4th. We will evaluate and get feedback on this and decide if it will become permanent beginning in the Fall!
